Research interests

Martin Wieser is Professor of General Psychology with a specialization in Theory and History of Psychology. His research focusses on the intersection of psychology, history, culture and politics in the 19th and 20th century.

Currently, he is Deputy of the Department of Psychology at SFU Berlin, Head of Program of the German Bachelor's program in Berlin, and Chairman of the Ethics Committee.

Martin Wieser studied psychology and philosophy at the University of Vienna and the Free University of Berlin. From 2010 to 2014, he was a Fellow at the interdisciplinary doctoral program "The Sciences in Historical, Philosophical and Cultural Context" at the Institute of History of the University of Vienna and lectured at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Vienna. In 2013, he was a Research Fellow at the Graduate Program "History and Theory of psychology" at York University in Toronto, and in 2014 he was a Visiting Scholar at the chair of History of Science at Humboldt University Berlin. Since 2013, he is a member of the Department of Psychology at Sigmund Freud Private University Berlin.
